70 Team Members Overhaul a 1950's Home

Each year the Asset Plus Corporate team dedicates a day of service to a local charity. Last Friday, 70 corporate employees gathered and contributed more than 450 man hours to upgrade a home that will benefit formerly imprisoned men in order to help provide a successful re-entry into society. The Asset Team began by covering the original wood floors and de-glossing all painted trim. Upon completion of the day, the team painted the entire home including walls, ceilings, trim and exterior. Various Asset teams collaborated to revamp the landscaping, paint the iron entry gate and fence as well as assemble and arrange furniture donated by Asset Plus and University Furnishings.

This 75-year-old house will provide a safe place for the men to live, learn and grow through religious guidance, work, education, and mentoring. By providing a home, clothing and a job, we hope this will serve as an entry point for a new life as a productive citizen.

Sherwin Williams generously donated all of the paint and many other supplies required to complete this project and positively impact the lives of these men. HD Supply and University Furnishings also contributed much needed supplies.Thank you to all of our employees for their generous service and outstanding attitude. We are grateful for our Asset Family and are honored to give back to our Houston community.
